About Us

Mike’s Home Solutions is a Brooklyn based General Construction Contractor, licensed with the NYC Department of Buildings. MHS began as a firm focused on residential renovations, as the name implies, but expanded into providing build-out services for commercial temporary art installation or “pop-up” events.

MHS holds all legally required professional licenses and insurances to work in NYC and the metro area. Feel free to contact Mike directly for specific questions on this topic.

Project Focus

Mike’s Home Solutions was born out of the need to rebuild after Superstorm Sandy, and focused exclusively on residential construction in the early years.

In the last five years, MHS has expanded into providing GC services to top brands in the construction of temporary interior installations or “pop-up” exhibitions. We collaborate with several NYC design firms. For example, we regularly work with Brooklyn-based Square Design Inc. to build creative spaces on commercial projects.

Drafting & Design

Our expertise both planning and executing construction. If your project requires design or construction documentation, our in-house designers can streamline this process.

Project Management

As a general contractor, project management is at the core of what we do. Defining and priding out the scope of work. Coordinating schedules of clients and construction professionals. Maintaining the client informed, at every level. These are all components of successful construction project management.

Values

Client Services

We put our client’s needs above all else on every project, no matter how small or big. The advantage of being a small business is that clients deal directly with the leader of the company. Mike manages each aspect of each project, which he executes with his trusted team of professionals. We pride ourselves with delivering quality control over all materials and work performed.

Many of our previous clients have boosted about the quality of our services. They often comment on the open communication throughout the process. Another point we have been complimented on is the quality of MHS craftsmanship, delivered on time and within budget. We provide a transparency and flexibility in our cost analysis and coordinate every aspect of the project planning and execution with our clients.

Quality Craftsmanship

The MHS team are all highly trained in their trade. Providing quality craftsmanship on every job is how we get our next project. We have a long term vision in terms of building and maintaining relationships on the long term with our clients. We aim to exceed even our client’s expectations to keep our clients coming back to us on future projects. Many of our clients are return customers. We will only turn over a project after all the workmanship has been approved by our client and city building officials, if applicable.

Trusted Team

Successful projects do not happen without a strong team performance. Each project is a balancing act in terms of dealing from design and planning up to the completion of all the construction. A team that collaborates and communicates openly is the key to progress in any organization.

Mike works in collaboration with key members of the team. Our team is made up of skilled and licensed tradesmen and design professionals.

Our clients have repeated complemented us on our professionalism, punctuality, communication, craftsmanship and problem-solving skills.

Family-Owned and Operated

MHS is a family-business. Michael leads the team with his father and brothers at his side. He started off working for other Coney Island crews, until he decided to launch his own company.

Pursuit of Knowledge

Mike credits his father with instilling the values of studying hard and doing things right the first time. Mike’s driving force has been providing for his wife and children. He instills the same values of working intelligently. He hopes they too will pursue careers in architecture and construction to continue the family business.

Work Smart & Work Hard

Our team will not just work as hard, but offer our client the best solution for their unique condition. Construction in NYC is complicated because of the age and density of buildings. This often complicates a seemingly simple task, but we manage to successfully complete projects on tight deadlines.

Immigrant Work-ethic

Michael’s entrepreneurial spirit was fostered from a young age. He worked on the family farm from a young age harvesting radishes, spinach and other vegetables Cholula, Puebla. They would drive a few hours to the Centro de Abastos in Mexico City, one of the largest food markets on this side of the world.

(re)Building Community

Mike not only provides jobs for his local community, but also donates surplus construction material or products to local religious organizations as a way to support his community.

In 2012, in the aftermath of Sandy, Coney Island’s 50,000 residents were left to deal with the flooding resulting from the storm surge.

Living on an island surrounded by water, local residents were hit hard, and almost all homes were damaged by flooding. There was an overwhelming need to quickly rebuild.

As a Coney Island resident, Michael used his skills in construction to help neighbors remove mold and repair their homes. It was through this experience that he realized his passion for helping people rebuild their homes.
